Tournament court prep.
Whether it's a USA Pickleball-sanctioned tournament, a corporate exhibition, or a broadcast event, the courts photograph and play differently when they've been prepped by a specialist the night before. Dink and Done deploys pre-event court teams nationwide.
Why tournament prep is different from routine cleaning
A normal monthly cleaning brings a facility's courts back to operating condition. Tournament prep brings them to media-ready, broadcast-ready, photograph-perfect. The difference is in the level of attention to baseline and kitchen-line marks, the visible uniformity of the surface, the freshness of the photo set you hand off to officials, and the timing precision — the courts have to be dry and ready by exactly the right hour. There's no slack in the schedule the morning of an event.
What's included in a tournament prep service
- Full five-step deep clean of every event court — the same protocol used for one-time restorations, scaled to the court count of the venue.
- Extra attention to high-visibility zones — kitchen lines, baselines, transition areas where paddle scuff and shoe marks accumulate fastest and read most clearly on broadcast camera angles.
- Timing keyed to event start — typically finishing 2-4 hours before doors open so the surface has full dry time and officials can walk the courts at first light.
- Photo handoff package — high-resolution before-and-after images suitable for sponsor decks, media kits, and post-event recaps. Delivered within 4 hours of completion (often before doors open).
- Between-session cleanings for multi-day tournaments. We can come back overnight between sessions to reset the surface for the next day.
Booking timeline
- 7-10 days out — ideal. Lets us coordinate with venue access, run a baseline walkthrough, and reserve crew capacity. Best pricing.
- 48-72 hours out — workable in core markets. Rush surcharge applied.
- 5-7 days out for out-of-region events — workable nationwide. Travel and rush surcharges apply.
- Less than 48 hours — case by case. Reach out and we'll tell you honestly whether we can deliver.
Common tournament prep mistakes
- Using the venue's normal janitorial crew the night before. Most janitorial outfits don't know about pad selection or chemistry choice — they run black pads that damage acrylic court surfaces. The court ends up worse than if it hadn't been touched.
- Cleaning event-morning instead of the night before. Doesn't leave dry time, risks slick spots during warm-ups, and stresses the venue staff who need access to the floor for setup.
- Skipping photo documentation. No baseline = no defense if a sponsor or athlete claims something was wrong with the surface during the event.
Catastrophic incidents during an event
If something goes wrong during a tournament — a spill, equipment failure, weather intrusion through a roof seam — we can dispatch a rapid response team to address it between sessions. Common in-event situations include water spills, food and beverage incidents, and isolated areas of damage that need treatment before the next session. More on emergency court restoration →

Common tournament prep questions.
How far in advance should we book?
+
7-10 days out is ideal. 48-72 hours is workable in core markets with a rush surcharge. Out-of-region deployments need 5-7 days for travel coordination. Same-day work is possible only when venue access permits.
Night before or morning of?
+
Night before is the strong default. The crew finishes 2-4 hours before doors open, giving the surface full dry time and letting officials walk the courts at first light. Same-day morning prep is doable but risks slick spots and stresses venue setup.
Can we use the photos for sponsors or media?
+
Yes. High-resolution before-and-after images delivered within 4 hours of completion, suitable for sponsor decks, media kits, and post-event recaps. Custom treatments available on request.
